Sukan RTM is a Malaysian sports television channel owned and operated by Radio Television Malaysia. The channel was launched in 2008 as a trial that lasted for the duration of the 2008 Summer Olympics, becoming a proper sports television channel in 2018, when it became known as RTM HD on June 13 that year. Months later, RTM HD was re-branded to RTM HD Sports and kept it until April 1, 2021, when the channel was named Sukan RTM.
Over the years, Sukan RTM has been known for airing content related to disciplines such as football, motorsports, badminton, rugby, wrestling, field hockey, and more. The channel has also covered multi-sport events such as Summer Olympic Games, Winter Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games or the Southeast Asian Games, to name a few. Sports content on this channel has featured both domestic and international competitions.
When it comes to football, Sukan RTM has included a large variety of options, which have gone from club football to national team tournaments. Club competitions aired on this channel have included the English Premier League, the Liga Super Malaysia, and the Malaysia FA Cup. National team competitions covered on this channel have included the FIFA World Cup, the AFF Suzuki Cup, the AFF Cup, the Copa América, and FIFA World Cup Qualification matches for the Malaysian national football team.
Broadcasting content in Malay and in English, Sukan RTM was launched as a Standard Definition channel during its test period, but its official launch added a High-Definition feed to provide a thorough experience for its users. The HD feed has become the primary option to watch this channel, although a downscaled version may be available in certain regions.
