About Sport1+ Germany
Sport1+ is a German pay-tv channel, owned and operated by Sport1 Medien AG. It was launched on October 4, 2010 and has been included in several pay-tv carriers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other countries.
Sport1+ has offered a large number of disciplines throughout its history. Some of the sports aired by this channel include football, handball, basketball, tennis, motor sport, ice hockey, and baseball. Some of its broadcasting rights were awarded to this network after its sister channel Sport1 US was shut down.
Speaking about football, Sport1+ has broadcast games for domestic leagues and international competitions. In the past, some of those domestic competitions have included the French Ligue 1, the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, and the Sky Bet Championship. Speaking about continental competitions, Sport1+ has aired the premier South American club competitions: the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana.
