Magenta Sport history, coverage, features
Magenta Sport is a German pay-tv sports streaming service. It was originally launched in 2014 as Telekom Basketball, but it was later rebranded to Telekom Sport. The service was subsequently rebranded as Magenta Sport in 2020. Magenta Sport is owned by the German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom.
This service was developed to give fans sports entertainment wherever they go. Users with an existing contract with the company that owns Magenta Sport are allowed to access the platform for one year free of charge. There are other options for users who do not have a contract with Deutsche Telekom and want to access the streaming service’s sports offering.
In the past, Magenta Sport has devoted itself to cover German basketball league games, German hockey league matches, and football games for German leagues such as the 3RD German league and the women’s Bundesliga have been made available for fans. Added to those leagues, Magenta Sport has also offered coverage of pre-match and post-match interviews for UEFA Champions League games.
Magenta Sport can be accessed on a computer (Mac or PC), on most smartphones and tablets working with Android or iOS, via a Smart TV, through Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, or via Magenta TV’s services such as the MagentaTV stick or the MagentaTV app. All games on this streaming service can be watched both live and on-demand and in High Definition.
