MNC Soccer Channel history, coverage, features

Soccer Channel is an Indonesian television channel owned and operated by MNC. The channel was launched on September 15, 2015, but its initial run lasted only five years, when it was shut down on January 2020. After a nine-month absence, Soccer Channel returned to TV sets in this country on October 1, 2020 with a new graphic image.

Over the years, Soccer channel has established itself as the main football channel for MNC, leaving additional coverage for other channels owned by the company, such as MNC Sports. Most of the content aired on this channel has had to do with international competitions, although some domestic tournaments have been covered by the network. Both club and national team competitions have been available to watch on Soccer Channel.

Club competitions covered by the channel have included the Indonesian Liga 1 and Liga 2, , while also adding leagues from other parts of the world such as the K-League, the Italian Serie A, and the Spanish Primera División. Soccer Channel has also been able to broadcast tournaments such as the UEFA Euro, the Copa América, the AFF Championship, and the UEFA Women’s Euro. Futsal tournaments have also been aired on this channel frequently. Added to those competitions, there may be highlights shows and repeat broadcast of games to keep the channel on the air 24 hours a day.

Soccer Channel was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was made available when the channel was relaunched in October 2020. Both feeds may be available to watch via different pay-tv carriers.
