UEFA Champions LeagueTNT Sports (formerly BT Sport) has extended its exclusive broadcast deal with UEFA for the Champions League in the UK and has agreed to provide multi-platform coverage of all Champions League matches from 2021 to 2024. The three-year agreement includes direct rights access to the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League as well, totaling 420 matches for TNT Sports subscribers to watch on TV, online or on their mobile devices.

UEFA Champions League match highlights are set to be consistently published on social media every game week, along with in-match clips. TNT Sports viewers can watch select Champions League games in 4K UHD and follow all the action live and on-demand on TNT Sports on discovery+ and the broadcaster's dedicated mobile apps. The British pay-TV operator reportedly pays £400m every year for its package of UEFA rights.

TNT Sports have extended their UEFA Europa League rights as UK’s exclusive broadcaster until 2024. The pay-TV broadcaster will air live Europa League matches across all platforms, including television, website and mobile devices. All matches, including the Europa League final, will be available to stream live in the UK on the discovery+ app.
More details Europa League match highlights will also be published and accessible for free on the network’s social media channels each match week. Coverage of the competition will additionally include pregame and postgame shows and other auxiliary programming.

TNT Sports retained their exclusive Europa League rights in the UK following a partnership with UEFA, which was reported to be worth £400m every year. The agreement also included the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa Conference.

Premier LeagueBT Sport has acquired UK Premier League rights from the 2022/23 season through 2025. A minimum of 52 games are to be televised exclusively on the network. BT TV is set to broadcast EPL matches in HD quality every season, although select fixtures are to be aired in 4K. BT’s Premier League deal covers matches that are played both in mid-week and on weekends and features all the big clubs and some of the most popular derbies.

Italy - Serie A (2021-2024)
BT Sport has secured exclusive broadcast rights to Italy’s Serie A in the UK and Ireland in 2024 after signing a three year deal. As part of their arrangement, BT Sport will broadcast all games, with at least five per round being shown live for a total of over 200 live matches per season. Bonus content includes a special weekly Serie A show which will provide an overview and analysis of all the happenings around the league from the prior matchday.

BT Sport 1 is part of a group of sports channels airing content in the UK and Ireland. It is owned by BT Group and it was launched on August 1, 2013. 

BT Sport caught the attention of the industry when BT Group announced they had won broadcasting rights to 38 Premier League games from the 2013-14 season, which was followed by the group’s announcement of their own sports network. The channel was launched on August 1, 2013 along with its sister channel, BT Sport 2.

BT Sport 1 has become one of the top sports channels in the world since its creation. Throughout its history, the channel has aired football games, rugby matches, hockey games, cricket clashes,  motor sport events and UFC fights. 

Speaking about football, the channel has aired games for some top-caliber moments from international competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. BT Sport 1 has also aired some of the world’s best domestic leagues such as the Bundesliga, the French top-flight, the English Premier League, and the Scottish Premier League. The channel’s partnership with ESPN allows it to air some American sports, such as Major League Baseball games, college sports, and X-Games. ESPN’s documentaries are also available on BT Sport thanks to this agreement.

One of the most appealing features by BT Sport has to do with the personalities that have graced their panel over the years. Former footballers such as Rio Ferdinand, Michael Owen, Gary Lineker, Peter Crouch, Jim Beglin, Robin Van Persie, Paul Scholes and Jose Mourinho have played a role for this channel in their football coverage over the years.
