ABC Local Radio is an Australian network of radio stations owned and operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. These stations broadcast their content across the country via terrestrial and satellite transmitters. Local stations are often named as the flagship ABC radio stations in their areas. 

Programming in all of ABC’s local radio stations might include news, current affairs, entertainment, sport, music, local affairs, talkback, and more. ABC Local Radio divides the Australian territory in seven regions: New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, Western Australia, and Northern Territory.

ABC Local Radio Queensland is one of seven regions in which the entire Australian territory is divided. The Queensland region operates via ten regional stations: ABC Capricornia (4RK), ABC Gold Coast – Gold Coast (4ABC), ABC Sunshine Coast – Sunshine Coast (4SCR), ABC Far North – Cairns (4QCC), ABC North Queensland – Townsville (4QN), ABC North West Queensland – Mount Isa (4ISA), ABC Southern Queensland – Toowoomba (4QS), ABC Tropical North – Mackay (4QAA), ABC Western Queensland – Longreach (4QL), and ABC Wide Bay – Bundaberg (4QB).
