English Premier League side Liverpool FC have reportedly inquired about the services of Barcelona shot stopper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Germany international was left out of Barca’s squad that won the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan and is now reportedly considering a future out of the Camp Nou.

Ter Stegen was signed by Barca from Borussia Monchengladbach as Victor Valdes’ replacement back in 2014 but has only managed to feature for the La Liga side four times in 18 months.

The youngster is now reportedly looking to regain first-team selection out of the club and Anfield seem to be his most probable destination. The 23-year-old started between the posts for the Catalans a few games after his arrival, but was later replaced by Claudio Bravo, who had an impressive outing with Chile at the World Cup.

The German did not feature in any game for the Spanish giants at the Club World Cup and Luis Enrique seems to have dropped the rotation policy that gave the young goalkeeper a chance to start between the sticks, once a while. Although he took part in the final celebrations when the team won the coveted international title, there was sadness written all over his face, consequently sparking speculations that he was set to leave the Spanish giants.
