After the departure of Diego Costa, Thibaut Courtois, and Filipe Luis this summer, Los Rojiblancos look set to lose another integral member of Atletico's 2013-14 La Liga-winning side

This summer transfer window has proved to be a nightmare for Liga BBVA champions Atletico Madrid.

La Rojiblancos have brought in several quality signings, with Croatian and French attackers Mario Mandzukic and Antoine Griezmann arriving at the Vicente Calderon, but the club has seen the departure of intergral members of their 2013-14 La Liga winning side.

Hotshot shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois returned to Chelsea after a three-year loan spell with the Madrid side, whilst the Blues plucked Diego Simeone of another two key players; Spanish striker Diego Costa and Brazilian defender Filipe Luis.

Now, last year’s Champions League runners-up must brace themselves to lose another star as Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are rumored to be preparing a bid for Diego Godin.

According to the Daily Mail, die Roten are willing to cut a cheque worth £27m to bring the Uruguayan defender to the Allianz Arena.

The 28-year-old, who won Atletico the Spanish league title thanks to the equalizing header during the 1-1 draw with Barcelona, is a priority for the Bavarians especially after losing holding midfielder Javi Martinez.

The Spaniard suffered cruciate ligament damage in Bayern Munich’s 2-0 DFL-Supercup loss to Borussia Dortmund, resulting in him being sidelined for the remainder of this year.

Although Godin played a significant part in Atletico Madrid’s success last season, registering over 51 appearances, Diego Simeone is believed to have already earmarked the 28-year-old center-back's replacement.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has been underlined as the ideal man to replace Diego Godin. The Danish defender has seen himself fall down the pecking order at the Merseyside club, and with Dejan Lovren's arrival at Anfield, the 29-year-old could find himself become more of a bit-part player.
