Within one year since his arrival, Mario Goetze seems already on his way out of the Bavarian team. The young German talent, who came from Borussia Dortmund, made it no secret that his prolonged permanence on the bench is affecting his morale.

In fact, he stated during an interview

“Of course I'm not happy. I want to win back the trust of the coach to play more.”

Many people saw Goetze’s comment, not as an attempt by the player to gain his coach’s trust back, but as an invitation for bids by interested teams.

So far, there have been talks that would see Goetze at Chelsea next season. However, interest for the young German attacking midfielder is high and the Blues will have to fight teams like Napoli and Arsenal to get to him.

The coming days will be decisive, but one thing is clear, Mario Goetze’s story at the Star of the South inevitably seems to be coming to an end. Something less clear is how Bayern will get the €37 million they paid for the Borussia Dortmund creative midfielder, after he has spent most of the time on the bench.
