The last 16 draw for the Copa del Rey has been announced.

The eight pairings for the Copa del Rey round of 16 draws have been announced. Defending champions Barcelona Athletic Club while their rivals Real Madrid go head to head against Europa League defending champions Sevilla.

The Athletic Club vs Barcelona fixture will be the repeat of the 2015 final when Lionel Messi scored a PUSKAS contender at the Nou Camp as the Catalans cruised to a 3-1 victory. One thing about The Lions is that they are one of the founding members of the Primera Division alongside Real Madrid and Barcelona, and tha they have never been relegated. This fixture brings out some sense of respect among the two teams as far as history is concerned.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, face Jorge Sampaoli's men who have been flying high this season. They currently sit at the third spot in La Liga table with 33 points, just four off league leaders Real Madrid. This should be the most difficult draw in the competition considering the fact that Sevilla are also in the last round of 16 of the Champions League.

Without further ado, here's the full Copa del Rey last 16 draw. The first leg of the competition will be played on January 4, while the second leg will kick off a week later on January 11.
