The 2023/24 UEFA Women's Champions League final will be taking place on Saturday, May 25th.

On Saturday, the 2023/24 UEFA Women's Champions League will come to its conclusion as Barcelona and Lyon prepare to do battle in the showpiece final. Both teams come into this competition having already won several titles in their respective domestic leagues, and as such, will naturally be aiming to cap off a multi-trophy winning season by lifting this huge prize.

The Blaugrana are the reigning champions in the UEFA Women's Champions League, and are on the cusp of what would be a historic quadruple after already winning Liga F as well as the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa de la Reina. Meanwhile, Lyon have already won the league as well as the French Super Cup, and now Les Fenottes will be aiming to make it three trophies in an overall successful season.

Given their respective successes at both domestic and international level, it is no surprise that both Barcelona and Lyon are no strangers to each other in this competition. In fact, two of Lyon's last three UWCL titles have come at the expense of Barcelona. The first was back in 2019, when Norwegian striker Ada Hegerberg netted a hat-trick as her team cruised to a 4-1 win over Barcelona in Budapest, while the second was in 2022, when the French giants earned a 3-1 win at that season's final in Turin.

It goes without saying that Barcelona will be hoping to get some revenge on a very familiar foe when the two sides meet up in yet another final. Saturday's final will be the 11th UWCL appearance for Lyon, who are are aiming to win what would be their ninth title and first since beating Barcelona 3-1 two years ago in Turin. To date, Barcelona have never beaten Lyon - with losses in every single one of their past four meetings against Les Fenottes.

Will that change on Saturday? Or will Lyon, who are the most successful team in this competition, make it a ninth UWCL title and cap off yet another fine season?
