VAR technology awarded a penalty to Manchester City due to a handball, but Sergio Aguero was not able to punish Spurs for it.

Hugo Lloris may have given Tottenham a massive boost in their attempt to reach the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, as the Frenchman denied Sergio Aguero's effort from the spot during the early moments of their clash against Manchester City.

Danny Rose's handball was initially ignored by ref Bjorn Kuipers, but VAR technology forced him to change the call. Unfortunately for Pep's men, Aguero's shot was not accurate this time.

Spurs' goalkeeper has shown impressive form in PK situations this year, but this save against Aguero could play a key role for Pochettino's men, since Manchester City still needs to score an away goal to keep things in hand for the second leg.

Furthermore, Lloris' save will go down in history as the first-ever PK save at Tottenham's new stadium, and what better way to do so than in a UEFA Champions League game.
