Real Madrid found a goal just when they did not deserve it that much, and it was Gareth Bale who stepped up to score a goal that could end their woes in the UEFA Champions League.
Bale took advantage of Federico Fazio's poor passing skills right after the start of the second half, as the Argentine footballer tried to feed the ball to goalkeeper Robin Olsen. Bale controlled the ball inside Roma's box and placed it in the lower right-hand corner of the Swedish goalie's net.
Bale's goal saw him join Luis Figo, Guti and Roberto Carlos as the 5th-best scorer in UEFA Champions League history for Real Madrid.
