Chelsea are apparently very close to signing Everton’s Steven Pienaar. Football transfer news from England indicates that the Toffees have accepted Chelsea’s bid for the player, but rejected Spurs’.
Earlier last week, English media The Sun reported that Coach Carlo Ancelotti was desperately looking to reinforce his struggling team by making a transfer for versatile star winger Steven Pienaar. This piece of transfer info followed with Everton coach David Moyes revealing after his side’s 2-2 draw away to Liverpool:

“We’ve accepted an offer from Chelsea. Steven hasn’t agreed terms.

“But we’ve given his representatives a chance to talk to Chelsea, but not to Tottenham because they haven’t offered the same amount of money.”

Harry Redknapp somehow echoed David Moyes’ comments about transfer matters surrounding Steven Pienaar. The Tottenham Hotspur manager told talkSPORT about how the prospect of landing the Everton star at White Hart Lane had been shattered by Chelsea’s competitive bid.

“We’re interested in him [Pienaar], but I see that Chelsea have offered £3M. That would make it difficult for us to compete with that money for him.

“They [Everton] have apparently agreed a fee with Chelsea for £3M and that’s probably a bit more than what we’ve set.”

In the meantime, Tottenham Hotspur are yet to sign players after letting Kyle Walker and David Bentley move. Robbie Keane is also set to profit from the January transfer window to quit White Hart Lane. As for Steven Pienaar, expect him to make a transfer from Everton to Chelsea anytime soon.
