So far, the CONCACAF Champions League Quarter finals have given MLS clubs an edge over their Liga MX counterparts. First, it was New York RB who took a two-nil lead over Tijuana, and today, Toronto FC walked away from BMO Field with a 2-1 win over Tigres, the current Mexican champions.
It wasn't an easy game for Greg Vanney's side, as Chilean striker Edu Vargas gave the away team the lead. Jozy Altidore gave the hosts some hope for the second leg with his fine right-foot finish, but The Reds' offense saved the best for last, as Jonathan Osorio gave them a one-goal lead for next week's match with a nice backheel finish.

The second leg of this tie will take place on March 13. Tigres will need a win to eliminate the Canadian side, while a draw would be enough for The Reds if they want to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
