He may not be Uruguay's top scorer in this World Cup Qualifiers, but he's managed to write his name into CONMEBOL's record books.
Luis Suárez joined Hernán Crespo as the top scorer in these kind of games against Colombia, putting to good use a long ball by Diego Godin and a header by Stuani. "El Pistolero" sent the ball into the back of the net to help Uruguay take the lead against Colombia, but Los Charrúas weren't able to hold on to their lead and ended up with only one point.
Suárez has been involved in 37 World Cup Qualifying games, taking three more to equalize Hernán Crespo's tally of 19 goals at the top of the scoring chart. With eight games to go in the South American tournament, it's only a matter of time before the Uruguayan becomes the undisputed owner of this record.
