This weekend's clash between Chelsea and Manchester City was certainly one of the most highly-anticipated ones in not just the Premier League, but across all of Europe's top leagues.
And it did not disappoint. After a score-less initial 45, the game finally opened up with Andre Schurrle breaking the deadlock and Frank Lampard coming back to torment his former side with a late equalizer to end Jose Mourinho's perfect start to the season.
However, shortly before Schurrle's goal, Diego Costa was involved, but not in the way that many would have thought. The Brazilian-born Spanish international got himself entangled in a bit of fracas with Pablo Zabaleta and as a result, City were down to 10 men for the last 20+ minutes of the game.
Don't mess with Costa! The Brazilian attacker will surely enrage City fans further after this pre-match warning
And as usual, social media went crazy following the incident:
Diego Costa is and always was a person with disgusting behaviours.

When he's not Scoring, He's causing Panic. Code Name; Diego Costa.

Unreal how Diego Costa still hasn't been booked.

How can Costa still be on the pitch after putting his hands around Zabaleta's neck? Unbelievable.

Disgusting dive from Costa getting his opponent sent off there. Or rdiculously stupid tackle from player of Zabaleta's experience. Choose.

Zabaleta rightly sent off. Costa rightly booked for his reaction. This could be the game changer, the opportunity Mourinho was waiting for.

YELLOW CARD: Diego Costa is also booked following the incident with Zabaleta. Looked a very harsh decision to send Pablo off.

They spent the entire match baiting Costa to get a reaction...but Zabaleta's off
