The blow was confirmed on Borussia Dortmund’s official website. A statement read:
“A scan carried out by BVB’s club doctor Markus Braun at Dortmund’s Knappschaft Hospital on Monday revealed that Reus suffered a sprained ankle as well as a partially torn ankle ligament and is expected to be sidelined for four weeks.”
Reus already had to miss the 2014 FIFA World Cup due to an injury he sustained only days before the DFB Eleven left Germany for Brazil. Luckily, the team triumphed. Close friend and match hero Mario Goetze did not forget to honour Reus after the final whistle against runners-up Argentina.
Forever friends: Goetze & Reus share a special bond

Reus’ recent injury, which happened last Sunday, would come as great news for Arsenal. The Gunners will play as visitors against BVB on Matchday 1 of the 2014/15 UEFA Champions League. Both sides are in Group D with Anderlecht of Belgium and Galatasaray of Turkey completing it.
The game between Jurgen Klopp's Dortmund and Arsene Wenger's Arsenal is scheduled for September 16th. Having been ruled out for a month, talismanic Reus will miss this titanic European clash as well as a handful of crucial clashes – like the ones against Stuttgart and Schalke in the German Bundesliga this month.

Marco Reus plays all but final few seconds of 2 int'ls, tears ankle ligament. Now out for 4 weeks. Avoidable.
