Viaplay exclusively broadcasts the UEFA Champions League in Denmark for the 2027-2031 TV cycle, thanks to a four-year rights agreement. While the streaming service lost UCL rights in Sweden, the Nordic pay-TV provider retained those rights in Denmark for the 2027-28 to 2030-31 seasons. As a result, football fans in Denmark can stream all UEFA Champions League games on the Viaplay app and website, pending a subscription.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has acquired multi-platform English Premier League rights in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in a deal that runs from 2022 to 2028. Live EPL streaming will be available on Viaplay – the leading online video streaming service in the Nordic region. Live Premier League matches and full replays may also be aired on NENT’s pay-TV and free-TV channels.

Germany - Bundesliga

2025-2029

Fans in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden can watch live Bundesliga matches on Viaplay for the 2025-26 to 2028-29 seasons. This comes courtesy of the NENT Group-owned streaming platform’s two-cycle deal with the Bundesliga covering 2021-2029. While this arrangement initially included Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, Viaplay decided to exit those markets by mid-2025.

France - Ligue 1

2024-2029

Ligue 1 fans in the Nordic region (Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark) and the Netherlands can watch the French top-flight exclusively on Viaplay from the second half of the 2024-25 season through 2028-29. All Ligue 1 matches are available live and on-demand on the broadcaster’s streaming platform, while select fixtures are televised on Viaplay’s linear channels throughout Scandinavia.

Nordic Entertainment (NENT) Group’s OTT streaming service has acquired exclusive rights to the annual German Super Cup through 2029 following an extension on a prior four-year deal. The Super Cup will be live-streamed on Viaplay, NENT Group’s OTT service in high definition.

Viaplay extended its English FA Cup media rights in multiple Nordic territories from 2024 to 2028. Fans in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden can stream matches from English football’s oldest cup competition after signing up for the “Viaplay Total” package, which is offered on a monthly basis.

Discovery, running until 2023-24, with Viaplay sharing the rights with TV 2 during the 2024-25 to 2029-30 season.
