Cosmote Sport 1 is a Greek pay television channel owned and operated by the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization, also known as OTE. It was launched in 2009 under the name Conn-X TV Sports, but it would later be rebranded to OTE Sport, a name that would last until 2016, when its name was changed to Cosmote Sport 1. The network includes nine other channels that broadcast sports events all week long.
Over the years, Cosmote Sport 1 has been considered as the most important channel for the network, since it has aired the most important live events taking place. The channel has focused on covering football events, although some other top competitions have been featured on this channel.
Speaking about football, Cosmote Sport 1 has covered domestic leagues such as the English Premier League, the Italian Serie A, the Primeira Liga, the German Bundesliga, the Russian Premier League, and the Scottish Premiership. Cup tournaments from different countries such as the Copa del Rey, the FA Cup, the Scottish League Cup, the Greek Cup, and the Portuguese Supertaça de Portugal have also been aired on this channel. When it comes to continental club tournaments, the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Super Cup, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the Copa Libertadores, and the Copa Sudamericana have all found airtime on this channel.
