About
TUDN USA history, coverage, features
TUDN is a Spanish-language sports television channel in the USA. It was created in April 2012 and is owned by TelevisaUnivision, alongside its sister channel in Mexico of the same name, with which it shares programming. The name “TUDN” is an acronym for TelevisaUnivision Deportes Network, with the first two letters pronounced as the Spanish adjective "tu" (your). As a result, the channel’s name reads "Tu Deportes Network," or "Your Sports Network."
Despite this, the channel initially launched under the name “Univision Deportes Network,” or “UDN” for short, while its Mexican sister channel was named “Televisa Deportes Network” (TDN). The pair jointly relaunched in 2019 as TUDN, allowing for greater collaboration between the American and Mexican sports channels.
Since launch, TUDN has made a name for itself by broadcasting major soccer competitions in the United States, including per-team Liga MX coverage, Copa America, Concacaf Gold Cup, and Concacaf Champions League. The channel also became popular for airing top-flight European soccer leagues, becoming the sixth-highest-rated sports channel in average primetime viewership in the USA in 2019.
The channel previously aired the German, French, Portuguese, and Dutch top-flight leagues: the Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Primeira Liga, and Eredivisie, before ultimately losing those rights. However, TUDN’s most important acquisition came in 2017 when it secured the Spanish-language rights to the UEFA Champions League and Europa League from 2018-19 onward.
The channel also began airing the UEFA Conference League upon launch, then known as the UEFA Europa Conference League, with TelevisaUnivision extending its rights to UEFA’s club competitions in 2023. TUDN also delivered coverage of other major UEFA tournaments, including Euro 2020 and 2024, following a 2018 deal between Univision and European soccer’s governing body.
Viewers in the USA could also watch Formula One in Spanish on TUDN from 2013 to 2019. However, the channel lost those rights to ESPN and ESPN Deportes, which began broadcasting F1 in English and Spanish starting in 2020.
Thanks to TelevisaUnivision’s sublicense deal with DAZN, the official broadcaster of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, TUDN was also able to broadcast select fixtures live in the USA from the expanded tournament. This included matches from the group stage and knockout rounds, with TUDN televising the final between Chelsea and PSG alongside its sister network, Univision.
As one of the most prominent Spanish-language sports channels in the USA, TUDN has enjoyed wide carriage via cable, satellite, and streaming television providers. Dish Network and AT&T U-verse were among the first television providers to pick up the channel back in 2012, and it has since been added by Fubo, DirecTV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Cox, Xfinity, Spectrum, and more.
Viewers in the USA can also watch TUDN and its live sports content via the Internet on the TUDN app and the channel’s official website. Both are available for free for authenticated users who have subscriptions with participating U.S. television providers.
