Ninth on the spin for Bayern, heartbreak for Leipzig, and records matched this weekend.

On Saturday, the Bundesliga title race finally came to its conclusion - all without reigning champs Bayern kicking a ball. Dortmund, ironically did their bitter rivals a huge favor, with Jadon Sancho's goal giving die Schwarzgelben all three points and breaking RB Leipzig fans' hearts.

Bayern, of course, decided to take out their frustration from their 2-1 loss to Mainz by pummeling Gladbach 6-0 in Hansi Flick's penultimate home match before he departs for a new opportunity.

Let's have a look at what happened over this weekend's round of fixtures.

Top five teams in the Bundesliga up to May 10

Bayern finally clinched their ninth straight title this weekend, dashing Leipzig's hopes of winning their first top flight title. Still, there's plenty to fight for, namely a spot in the Champions League. Frankfurt have slipped into fifth spot, and die Adler will be hoping to get back to winning ways if they want to qualify for Europe's premier club competition for the first time in the organization's history

Who are the top three scorers in the Bundesliga?

One more goal and Robert Lewandowski will match Gerd Muller's 49 year record. It's bound to happen, and we're very likely to see him finally break that record. Muller, however, may not be so pleased to see his record fall, despite what he will say publicly...

Top Bundesliga headlines

Robert Lewandowski is now just one goal away: The Polish ace was in fine form on Saturday as he grabbed a hat-trick during Bayern's 6-0 mauling of Gladbach. That means he's netted 39 times this season, which sees him one just goal away from matching Gerd Muller's 49 year old record. It's possible he could have scored four times, but he decided to provide an assist for Kingsley Coman to get involved in the goal-scoring action.

With Lewandowski in top form once again, and two games to go, it's pretty much guaranteed that the 32-year-old will score again next round. The only question is how many goals will he score before this season ends?

Manuel Neuer reaches milestone: Lewandowski wasn't the only player to enjoy a great day at the office. Skipper Manuel Neuer kept a clean sheet, and in doing so, now has gone 204 matches sans conceding a goal. This has pulled him level with Oliver Kahn, but in fewer matches (437). With two games remaining, Neuer could top Kahn's record before the conclusion of this season.

Top Bundesliga matches: May 15-16, 2021

Hertha Berlin vs Cologne: The Billy Goats saw their two game winning streak snapped last weekend and are still in danger of relegation. They're currently in 17th spot and will need to win this match against a Hertha Berlin side who also aren't out of the woods just yet. In short, this will be a very interesting clash between two sides who will be desperate for all three points to ensure their top-flight status.

Arminia Bielefeld vs Hoffenheim: Currently in 16th, the hosts are in a rather precarious situation. They could end up right back in the outright relegation spots, jump as high as 14th, which would guarantee safety, or remain in 16th, which would mean they would have to battle for their place in the top flight via a two-legged play-off contest. The next two games will provide crucial in where Arminia Bielefeld finds themselves next season, and that includes their upcoming game with Hoffenheim.
