The pay-TV provider’s deal covers the 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27 Champions League seasons. Viaplay’s acquisition of rights in Sweden represents a significant shift from the 2021-2024 media cycle, during which Telia held the linear and digital broadcast rights in that country.

The rights also extend to Iceland in non-exclusive terms, as Viaplay’s Europa League coverage is shared with local TV network Sýn. Live UEFA Europa League streaming on Viaplay is available across multiple devices via its apps and several TV partners’ platforms, amounting to hundreds of live matches yearly.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has acquired multi-platform English Premier League rights in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in a deal that runs from 2022 to 2028. Live EPL streaming will be available on Viaplay – the leading online video streaming service in the Nordic region. Live Premier League matches and full replays may also be aired on NENT’s pay-TV and free-TV channels.

Fans in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden can watch live Bundesliga matches on Viaplay for the 2025-26 to 2028-29 seasons. This comes courtesy of the NENT Group-owned streaming platform’s two-cycle deal with the Bundesliga covering 2021-2029. While this arrangement initially included Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, Viaplay decided to exit those markets by mid-2025.

V Sport Extra is a Swedish television channel owned and operated by the Nordic Entertainment Group. It was launched in 2016 as a High-Definition option to TV3 Sport, a sister channel that frequently airs content in Standard Definition. V Sport Extra is part of the V Sport network.
Over the years, V Sport Extra has been known as one of the most relevant sports channels in the country. Among the many disciplines it has covered, the channel has included football competitions, hockey, American football, basketball, golf, motorsports, and more. Since there are sports-specific channels in the V Sport network, V Sport Extra has been considered as an overflow channel to some of its sister channels, airing its content in High-Definition.
