The SheBelieves movement is a campaign that aims to inspire and encourage girls and young women to follow their dreams and accomplish their goals whether it be in sports or not. The campaign was created and developed by the U.S. Women's National Team players before the 2015 Women's World Cup and has grown into a bond between the team and fans.
The SheBelieves Cup was founded in 2016 and showcases four of the world's most rated national teams every year in the U.S. in order to shine the spotlight on role models and exhibit their accomplishments both on and off the field.
This annual tournament is typically played in March across a full week. The three nations invited to join host USA to compete for the "friendly cup" are generally part of the FIFA Women's Ranking Top 10.
The format of the SheBelieves Cup is simple: there are no knockout stages or final. The four teams play against each other once. At the end of the contest, all four teams would have played three matches each. The highest-ranked nation on the table lifts the trophy, with goal difference, goals scored, head-to-head result, and FIFA ranking used in this respective order to separate the SheBelieves Cup champions from the rest, in the event that two or more teams are tied on the same number of points.
