Another action packed weekend is in store as matchday 26 in the 2023 MLS season gets underway. Here's all you need to know.

The Gold Cup is nearing its conclusion, with Panama shocking the USMNT in the semi-finals to set up a clash against Mexico in the showpiece final later this week. Meanwhile, fans of Major League Soccer are eagerly awaiting Lionel Messi's debut with Inter Miami, which will be taking place imminently after it was revealed that the Argentinian superstar has already arrived in Florida to link up with his new teammates and begin training.

Here's all you need to know ahead of matchday 26 in MLS.

How to watch Matchday 26 in the 2023 MLS season

Once again, it will be another hectic Saturday with matchday 26 of the 2023 MLS season getting underway. One match to keep an eye on will be Cincinnati vs. Nashville. Cincinnati, who will serve as hosts, appear to have turned a corner after a three game winless streak thanks to a tough 2-1 road win over New York Red Bulls mid-week, and are now eight points clear at the top of the Eastern Conference. By contrast, Nashville are in a poor run of form, with four losses in their last five games, and will be taking on a team who have dropped points in just one of their last 11 matches.

Meanwhile, New England Revolution, who have moved into second spot following their 2-1 win over Atlanta United last round, will hope to maintain their impressive home form when they host DC United. The Revs not only have won their last four on home turf, but have shown no issues finding the back of the net, which doesn't bode well for United who have struggled to maintain any kind of consistent form so far this season.

Elsewhere, Columbus Crew, who are on an eight game unbeaten streak, will look to heap more misery on the floundering Portland Timbers, who have just three points from their last five games and could be leap-frogged by LA Galaxy should they fail to pick up a win against the Crew this weekend.

Speaking of LA Galaxy, they slowly seem to be awakening from their slumber. They come into their next game unbeaten in their last five, and crucially, with wins in their most recent two against both Los Angeles FC in "El Trafico" as well as recently against Philadelphia Union. However, will Vancouver Whitecaps, who have been a very inconsistent side, but come into this match having won their last match prove to be a potential stumbling block?

Some fans, especially those in the USA and Canada, will be able to follow some of these games on TV. However, for those who can't access MLS games via TV or prefer a more flexible option, MLS Season Pass offers live streaming of MLS matches in over 100 countries worldwide.

Here is the full list of games for this upcoming round.

Xherdan Shaqiri gets fans buzzing with brilliant goal

Shaqiri is no stranger to scoring fantastic goals, as fans will remember from way back in the day when he scored an absolute screamer for Switzerland at the EURO 2016 tournament. However, the Swiss star, who also played for Liverpool and Bayern Munich during his European career, has had his fair share of struggles since moving to Chicago Fire a couple years ago as the club's record signing.

However, Shaqiri turned back the years with a brilliant showing for the Fire during their 3-0 win over Montreal, which makes it four wins in five matches for Chicago Fire and has helped them vault up the table into contention for an Audi Cup play-offs spot.
