Headline fixture of the Euro 2020 Playoff Finals – Serbia vs Scotland

Serbia vs Scotland is one of four Euro 2020 Playoff finals set to take place on Thursday, November 12 but it is undoubtedly the standout fixture for the ultimate round. The Tartan Terriers are one match away from ending their 25-year wait to enter UEFA's premier continental but Kolarov and Co. stand in their way.

A spot in Group D alongside England, Croatia, and Czech Republic is at stake for the winner of this Path. Both Serbia and Scotland booked their spots in this playoff finals after winning their respective semi-final fixtures, but the latter were made to sweat for their ticket. Andy Robertson and Co. faced Israel but were unable to break them down during regular time, thus needing a 5-3 penalty shootout triumph to progress. The Eagles, on the other hand, faced a Haaland-led Norway side and won, with a brace from Milinković-Savić sending them through.

However, this should not take away from the Serbs' biggest drawback and that is their inconsistency. Given the number of talented and experienced players at their disposal, Krstajić's side are capable of beating Scotland on paper, the question is whether they will turn up in Thursday's game. Scotland are on an eight-game unbeaten run, their longest streak since the mid-80s, but will need an inspired performance to secure a spot in Euro 2020.
