Los Blancos were reportedly interested in signing the highly-rated midfielder before the end of the summer transfer window.

Reports surrounding an alleged attempt by Real Madrid to lure Bruno Fernandes to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium before the end of the summer transfer window proved to be a fluke, as the Spanish giants decided to add one more player to their roster instead.

Zinedine Zidane had a massive number of players to work with for most of the summer, and since they were not able to offload Gareth Bale, James Rodríguez or even Mariano, Los Blancos were not allowed by La Liga to add new players to their squad.

In fact, other than the confirmation of Keylor Navas' move to PSG, Real Madrid only added one more footballer to their roster: Vinicius.

La Liga demands its teams to register all of their players with a number that goes from Number 1 to Number 25. Real Madrid has each and everyone of those spots allocated, with the only exception being the No. 25 jersey. Vinicius will be handed that number, which will put an end to all transfer speculation surrounding Real Madrid, mainly because there is no space left in their roster.

According to reports by the Spanish media, the only player that could be close to leave Real Madrid in the dying hours of the transfer window is Mariano, but there have been no negotiations surrounding the Dominican Republic striker.

So, unless a miracle happens in the final moments of the transfer window, Real Madrid fans will see the possibility of landing the Portuguese footballer fade away.
