Tottenham's 4-2 defeat to Arsenal in last weekend's tantalizing London Derby was a major setback for Mauricio Pochettino's men, especially after their resounding 3-1 win over Chelsea in another London Derby the weekend prior. To that end, Spurs will be looking to get back to winning ways as they take on a Southampton side who have won just one game all season and are among the sides looking set for relegation at the end of this campaign.
Southampton, meanwhile, thought they had a vital win against Manchester United in hand after taking an early shock 2-0 lead. However, with Arsenal facing Manchester United in a potentially tricky clash, Tottenham could leapfrog the Gunners back into fourth spot with a good result at Wembley against the struggling Saints. If both Arsenal and Tottenham win their respective fixtures, then it's highly unlikely fans will see any changes in the league standings after this round - especially in the battle for a top four spot.
Meanwhile, Southampton sit in 18th place as a result of their disappointing showings this season.
