The Spanish top flight left a few talking points after the games played this weekend.

La Liga saw their most recognizable teams walking out of their respective games on a high note, but that doesn't mean that they didn't suffer to win their matches this weekend.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid claimed all the points last Saturday, as Los Blaugranas came from behind to beat Rayo Vallecano with a scintillating performance by Luis Suárez. Earlier that day, Real Madrid ended their winless streak in La Liga with a 2-0 win over Valladolid, giving Santiago Solari his first victory in a Spanish top flight match.

Sevilla climbed back to second place, taking advantage of Atlético's draw against Leganés. Meanwhile, Alavés lost their second game in their last five to drop from second to fourth. Here's a look at La Liga's standings after 11 games.

The Uruguayan stepped up to score five goals in Messi's absence, and Saturday's performance secured three crucial points for Valverde's team in their efforts to re-validate the title.
