LiveSoccerTV brings you all the highlights from Serie A matchday 9, including Roma's shock loss, Inter's win, CR7's milestone goal, and more.

After yet another hiatus for more international football, Serie A resumed action this past weekend, and the latest round certainly did not diasppoint. There was another installment of the famous Derby della Madonnina, and it concluded in dramatic fashion, with Inter snatching a late, late winner to break Rossoneri hearts and send Nerazzurri fans into wild celebrations.

Meanwhile, Genoa managed to end their frustrating run against Juventus, while Atalanta ended their miserable run at Chievo's expense and Roma suffered yet another setback. Here are five notable things we obsered on matchday nine, with one more game still yet to be played as Sassuolo and Sampdoria lock horns later today at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Mauro Icardi continues to be a thorn in Milan's side

Need a goal in the Derby della Madonnina? Inter can certainly count on their skipper, Mauro Icardi. The Argentinian attacker continues to be Mr. Reliable, especially when it comes to derby clashes, as it was his late goal that ended up being the game winner in a very tense clash at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday evening.

And in doing so, Icardi set an impressive record in the process:

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make waves...

On Saturday, Genoa took on Juventus at the Allianz Stadium. Cristiano Ronaldo needed just 18 minutes to find the back of the net to make it 1-0 and grab his fifth goal of the season, and more important, that makes it 400 goals for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Why is this significant? Because the 33-year-old superstar is the first player to score 400 goals in Europe's "Big 5" leagues, having accumulated this total whilst playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid and now Juventus. And with five goals, he is now Juve's top goalscorer so far in Serie A, having overtaken Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic, who had raced into an early start but has cooled off as of late. Naturally, expect Ronaldo to continue adding more to his growing tally as the season progresses and close the gap on surprise Capocannoniere leader Piatek, who still leads the way with nine goals but failed to score during the Juve-Genoa clash last Saturday.

...but Genoa spoil Juve's impressive run

Unfortunately, Ronaldo was not able to celebrate this impressive achievement with a win as Genoa managed to snatch a draw and thus become the first side to nick points off Juventus this season. It also marks the first time Juventus have conceded a goal against the Grifone at home in seven games, and it has allowed Napoli to close the gap between the two sides to just four points.

The only teams yet to draw a game so far in Serie A this term? Napoli, Lazio, and SPAL.

A very interesting case of déjà vu for Atalanta's Ilicic

Elsewhere, Atalanta finally got a break as they cruised to a 5-1 win over a hapless Chievo side, which gave La Dea their second win of the season. Although it still does not mean that they are out of danger just yet, it was still a morale-boosting victory for the Bergamo-based team and a good day at the office fo Slovenian international Josip Ilicic.

Interestingly, Ilicic, who netted a hat-trick, seems to have a thing for scoring against Verona-based sides, as this stat shows:

A historic win for SPAL...at Roma's expense

Meanwhile, Roma suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of SPAL. Things seemed to be going better for Eusebio Di Francesco's men, who had won three games in a row heading into the clash with a SPAL side who had lost four in a row and were viewed as heavy favorites to come out on top. But football indeed is an unpredicatable entity and the Giallorossi were disgraced in front of their own fans at the Stadio Olimpico.

SPAL's win was truly historic indeed:

Prior to this result, SPAL had won just one of their last 16 away games against Roma (D6 L9). As one can see, that was well over 50 years ago so one can see why punters did not give them much of a chance.
