Which teams are playing in the 2018 DFL-Supercup?

The 2018 DFL-Supercup will feature Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt. Like the the Trophée des Champions in Ligue 1, this one-off game pits the winner of the Bundesliga against the winner of the DFB-Pokal. In the event that one team wins both, as has been the case for Bayern over the past couple of seasons, then it is the runners-up of the Bundesliga versus the Bundesliga champion.

Eintracht Frankfurt beat Bayern Munich in the DFB-Pokal a few months ago and so will have the chance to feature in its DFL-Supercup since 1988, when it lost 2-0 to Werder Bremen.

Who are the current champions?

Bayern Munich is currently the reigning holder of the DFL-Supercup. Die Roten have won the last two editions and will be hoping to make it a three-peat as they aim to take revenge on Eintracht Frankfurt for their shocking loss in the DFB-Pokal final last season.
