Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal will have to cheer Bayern Munich in their quest for "payback" against Real Madrid, as he has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a knee surgery.
The controversial footballer slipped during Saturday's training session and caused damage to his right knee. While first reports claimed that he would need a minor surgery to correct the problem, the team's Twitter feed revealed that Vidal will not be playing anymore for Die Roten in the 2017-18 season.

Bayern's reveal means that Vidal, a crucial part of Jupp Heynckes' squad, will not be available for their UEFA Champions League games against Real Madrid.
The Chilean player was looking forward to earn some "payback" against Los Blancos, following their somewhat controversial exit from the tournament last season against the same opponent.
