His return to La Liga has been complicated by Atletico’s FIFA ban. Simeone’s side are not allowed to register a player until January but a deal for Costa could still be agreed upon this summer.
Chelsea are wasting no time in replacing the outgoing Spaniard. According to AS, their main target is Alvaro Morata, the 20-goal Real Madrid striker who scored wants out of the Bernabeu for more playing time.
The Premier League champions are preparing a £70m bid for the 24-year-old who Conte is a huge admirer of. That amount, however, does not match Los Blancos’ £80m valuation for Morata.
