Anyone who scores a brace on his English Premier League debut is bound for greatness. However, not many could have predicted Sergio Aguero to succeed in England as he has.
The Argentine is loved by Manchester City fans and anyone who has him in their FPL squad, yet his name is rarely mentioned when discussing some of the Championship’s greatest strikers.
However, a look at the 28-year-old’s stats – one in particular – shows he could be up there with the Premier League greats. The former Atletico Madrid ace has scored 105 goals in the English top-flight in only 152 apps.
Many were quick to point out that Aguero boasts one more goal than the tally of Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, with the Ivorian needing 102 more games to reach that feat.

Aguero set this mark when he scored twice to help Pep Guardiola’s crew to a 4-1 win over Stoke in only Man City’s second game of the season. This isn’t too surprising from a player who is the second fastest to reach 100 Premier League goals.
However, take a closer look at Drogba’s numbers and you’ll realize that 120 of the Blues favorite’s appearances came at the age of 31 and onward, which is not an ideal age for a striker.

Furthermore, 41 of those 120 apps came from the bench, with Drogba making only two starts in his final season at Stamford Bridge despite featuring in 28 games.
