Reports are coming in that Leicester City’s midfield marshal Danny Drinkwater has hit a road block in his contract renewal talks with the English top flight champion club.
This is according to SunSport, as details suggest that negotiations have stalled between the two parties and that the Spurs are looking to snap him up with a possible £20m offer.
The 26-year-old Englishman was a crucial part of Leceister’s winning squad last season, among the likes of Vardy and Mahrez. However, it seems the Foxes have been prioritizing keeping on their stellar offensive line at the expense of Drinkwater.
It appears the management has vastly underestimated his appeal as many English Premier League outfits have been keenly eyeing the situation over at the King Power Stadium.
Most notable of these suitors is Tottenham, one of several sides looking to move in on a kill including the likes of Everton who are targeting Leicester City’s last line of defence, Kasper Schmiechel.
This is the fourth player who has been targeted by a London giant, with Arsenal going after both Vardy and Mahrez, and Chelsea signing Kante.
Given that Claudio Ranieri’s side have already lost N’Golo Kante to the Blues, the Premier League champions would be wise to do everything in their power to hold onto the Three Lions reject.
