Injuries have hit Juventus’ squad ahead of tonight’s Europa League match against Salzburg, but the Bianconeri aren’t worried about this issue. Their confidence is high.
Beating rivals AC Milan 2-1 in the league last weekend might have contributed in boosting Juventus’ spirit as they now turn their attention to Europa League football. The truth is that the Italians are in a delicate situation and Thursday night’s Salzburg match eventually appears as a must win encounter.

Three draws on the trot have put the Bianconeri in 3rd position in Group A behind Manchester City and Lech Poznan – incredibly, one may add. Being undefeated is good, but there’s something greater that Juventus must achieve if they want to rekindle their hopes of qualifying into the next stage of the Europa League; and that is, to win.

After their match against Salzburg, Juventus will still have to play away to Lech Poznan before hosting Manchester City at the Stadio Olimpico to resume the group stage phase of their European campaign. By then, would they be holding tickets for the next round? Well, it may be safer for Juve to think of winning match by match and Thursday night will mark one of their three upcoming missions in the group stages of the Europa League.

But how well will they pass their test with so many players out of the clash and on the sidelines through injury? According to defender Legrottaglie, a repeat of history will be the solution to Juventus’ worries.

“We were in a similar situation two years ago,” the player told UEFA.com.

“We had a lot of players injured, but it was at that moment that the squad showed their real strength. I’m sure that we’ll repeat that scenario.

“I’ve got faith in this group. We will play a great game [against Salzburg].”
