European giants Italy will be in action on Monday, as the Azzurri kick start their UEFA Euro 2016 campaign with a highly-anticipated clash with Belgium, as they look to go one up on their runners-up finish in 2012 and win the title.
Italian striker Mario Balotelli will, however, not be in action, as the Liverpool man was not picked by Antonio Conte to be part of the 23-man squad. Nonetheless, Super Mario is still in the headlines after reportedly being involved in a brawl in a night club back home.
This is according to Corriere della Sera, with the Italian daily writing that the incident occurred at a club called Coco Beach near Brescia on Saturday night. However, according to the report, it remains unclear exactly what role the former AC and Inter Milan man played in the altercation.
There are claims that the player merely walked away as clashes began between youngsters taking pictures with Balotelli, whilst others accuse the 25-year-old of playing an active role in the brawl.
Unfortunately, a 33-year-old man was severely hurt after the fight, as it is reported by Corriere that he lost three fingers during the incident. Football Italia predict Super Mario will be called up by police and give a testimony, with possible charges awaiting if his involvement in the fight proves to be true.
