The Blues have had a disappointing season and will be looking to restore their lost glory. While some media reports suggest that incoming Chelsea boss could go for top-class strikers such as the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani, Southampton forward Graziano Pelle has emerged as a shock transfer target for the former Juventus boss, according to The Sun.
Out-of-form striker Radamel Falcao could be on his way out of the Stamford Bridge this summer, and the same case applies to Loic Remy, who has been unused for the better part of the season.
Pelle, 30, has a year left to his contract with the Saints, but the Blues are reportedly willing to lure him to West London for 8m.
Both Pelle and Conte have worked together while on international duty for Italy. The former Feyenoord man made his debut for Italy in 2014 under Conte. Since then, he has made 11 appearances in total and scored four goals. In the Premier League this season, he has found the back of the net 10 times and provided 5 assists in 29 games.
Chelsea face Leicester City at home for their last league game of the season before embarking on the transfer business in a bid to boost their squad ahead of the new season.
