Sir Alex Ferguson believes Pep what has it takes to be successful at Man City, but the task ahead of him will not be that easy.

Former Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has warned incoming Man City manager Pep Guardiola not to expect Barcelona-like success with the Citizens. Although SAF admitted that Pep could be successful at Man City, he mentioned that this will the toughest test for the Spaniard after leaving Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

The Spanish tactician is set to replace Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium this summer, something that has already sparked great expectations among fans of the English giants. In his reign at Barcelona, Pep won 3 consecutive La Liga titles, 2 Champions Leagues, 2 Copa del Reys, and 2 FIFA Club World Cups.

In Germany, the experienced tactician is eyeing his third consecutive Bundesliga title with The Bavarians and a Champions League title this season. Speaking during an interview with Sky Sports News, SAF explained that the level of the competition in the Premier League will be an eye-opener for the incoming City boss.

He said:

“Pep has got a fantastic work ethic about him, and he demands that from all his training sessions. So anyone who says they're not going to work hard won't last long I'm sure of that.

“He has got great coaching ability there's no doubt about that. It's interesting because it'll be difficult to match what he did at Barcelona.’’

"Obviously Man City have had a real coup in getting him because he's an outstanding coach, but Pep won't find it easy. English football is not easy. Every foreign coach who has come to England will tell you that.

He added:

“Arsene Wenger, after a few months [of arriving], he was talking about that. Even Jose we he came, after his first season he realised what he achieved was hard work.

"So, he will be a success I don't think he'll ever replicate what he ever did at Barcelona but that was a high standard. They were the best.”

The Scottish manager won 13 Premier League titles with Man United, 5 FA Cups, 4 League Cups, 10 Community Shields, 2 Champions Leagues, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 Intercontinental Cup and 1 FIFA Club World Cup in 27 years at Old Trafford.
