The USMNT will try to secure their spot in the CONCACAF Qualifiers' knockout stage this Saturday, when Andreas Herzog's men face Cuba in their second game of Group A. After being eliminated from the Olympics four years ago, the Stars and Stripes started off with the right foot, and they will try to continue their good form against a complicated Cuban side.
Herzog's men defeated Panama 3-1 in style, having Jordan Morris as their key player with a brace against their neighbors. Stanford University's striker is making the most of his experience with the National Team, after showing what he can do in an international friendly against Mexico, where he managed to score the second goal back in April. If Morris can't work his magic against the Cubans, Real Salt Lake's Luis Gil could be in charge of breaking through their defense. Gil scored the third goal for Herzog's team against Canada coming off the bench, so his contribution will be much appreciated by the team.
On the other side of the pitch, Cuba will try to shock the hosts with their quickness and ellaborated game plans. After getting to this qualifiers as the proverbial victim, the Cuban side will put to good use Maykel Reyes' experience, who was included in the Gold Cup squad that reached the Quarter Final stage and eventually lost to the USNT. Following a 1-1 draw against Panama, the Cubans will try to end their 13-game losing streak in Olympic Qualifier matches this Saturday, and maybe keep their Rio de Janeiro hopes alive.
