Former Manchester United player continues to raise fitness concerns after being substituted 36 minutes into the game between Internacional and The Strongest. It was the performance Red Devils fans were used to, but this time it happened at La Paz, Bolivia during a Copa Libertadores game.
The 26-year-old Brazilian could not handle the 3.650 meters above sea level in which the game was played. He is the latest victim in a long list of players who can’t adapt to the conditions of the highest administrative capital.

After barely making it out of the pitch and being substituted, he made his way to the bench huffing and puffing. The midfielder then requested some assistance from his team’s medical staff. They provided him with an oxygen mask and a drink. Anderson seemed to continue to suffer in the bench for quite a while.

He had failed to make an impact during the seven years he was at Old Trafford. Louis van Gaal only played him twice this season. On Tuesday night, it was just his second game with the Brazilian side and his first one as a starter. The Strongest would win the game 3-1.
In Anderson’s debut, he missed a penalty kick after coming off the bench against Cruzeiro. This is meant to be only the beginning of his four-year tenure as a player for Internacional. He recently signed a four-year contract with the team.
