The South American U-20 tournament will have an exciting finale with four out of six contenders still fighting to improve their positions. As if fate had its hand in it, Argentina and Uruguay will play against each other to decide which one will win the U-20 South American tournament, while Colombia will add some pressure if they can manage to win against Brazil. Paraguay and Peru will play the runner up match with nothing at stake. The top-four teams in this tournament have already secured their spot in the U-20 World Cup to be held in New Zealand.
The most exciting match of them all is the one between La Albiceleste and Los Charruas. The Argentinians need only one point to gain direct access to the 2016 Olympics, while the Uruguayans need to win so Argentina goes to a playoff against one of CONCACAF's teams. One of the toughest rivalries in South America, Uruguay can claim to be one of the hardest teams for Argentina to beat, winning three matches and equalizing eight times against Los Gauchos.
Prior to these match, Colombia will play against Brazil with their hopes set on an Uruguayan loss. If Los Cafeteros defeat Brazil and Uruguay loses, Colombia would earn a spot in the CONCACAF-CONMEBOL playoff for a place in the Olympics. Even though Brazil have nothing to fight for, a third place finish for them will not be applauded by their fans. Colombia will try to shift their latest results against Brazil, who have won eleven of their last 12 matches against the Colombians.
Finally, Paraguay and Peru will play to determine which team ends up in last place of this exciting tournament. With no hopes of reaching World Cup Qualifying spots, both teams will have to settle with their place in the Pan-American Games to be held in Toronto. The Paraguayans have never lost a match against the Peruvians, and they will surely try to make that statistic count when both sides meet.
