Real Madrid's defender was substituted in the team's last game during halftime. His place with Spain will be taken by Barcelona's Marc Bartra.

Sergio Ramos will not take part of Spain's Euro 2016 qualifying matches this week after coming down with an injury in his club's last game. Ramos was substituted in Real Madrid's game against Athletic this Sunday, and despite feeling fine this morning, tests on his right leg revealed a muscular injury to his right leg.

Ramos is one of the few players Carlo Ancelotti did not rest, starting him in all of Real Madrid's games. After being informed of the player's injury, Spanish coach Vicente del Bosque called up Barcelona's defender Marc Bartra

With Ramos out of action, Del Bosque will have to rely on Raul Albiol, the only one of his center backs with game time on his back. Gerard Pique, the other possible starter, hasn't enjoyed many minutes under coach Luis Enrique, rotating positions with Javier Mascherano and recently called up Bartra.

For Bartra, this will not be his first set of games for Spain, since he played for La Roja in last November's friendly against Equatorial Guinea. The 23-year old defender was also called up for last month's games against France and Macedonia.
