Liverpool vs Everton will be a blockbuster fixture as the two Merseyside outfits go head to head at Anfield on Saturday, the 28th of November.

The fixture yielded 10 goals last season as Liverpool and Everton seeked supremacy at the expense of one another. The first encounter was a real nail biter which ultimately ended in a 3-3 draw at the Goodison Park, however Liverpool had the upper hand during the return leg as they demolished their fierce rivals defeating them by a 4-0 score line.

However Liverpool have failed to transfer their good form from last season to the current campaign having already lost thrice in the league which includes consecutive defeats at the hands of West Ham and Aston Villa. Everton manager Roberto Martinez has taken a jibe at his counterparts claiming that they are still not over the loss of Luis Suarez who after a stellar season with the Reds was sold to Barcelona in the summer for a club record fee.

"Every team changes when you change personnel," he said. "You need to find different ways of playing and there is a little bit of adaptation with European football because we're both going through the same period."

"It's early in the season and it's about adapting to those demands and having different players and new ways of playing because obviously Luis Suarez was very significant.”

Everton themselves have been on quite a disappointing run lately and the Spanish tactician has insisted that his side would do their ultimate best to win three very important points.

"The game is going to be exciting. I think this one is building up to being a very good game. It's only three points, but three points that are very, very important for both sides," he added.

Everton will have some injury concerns as they head into a very important match against Liverpool with both Steven Pienaar (groin) and Seamus Coleman (head injury) expected to miss out. Arouna Kone on the other hand was on the bench as the toffees suffered a 3-0 defeat at the Liberty Stadium in the Capital One Cup but will be contention for a starting berth on Saturday.

There is positive news on the injury front as far as Liverpool are concerned with Daniel Sturridge in contention to make a return to the side. However there are concerns over the fitness of Joe Allen and Glen Johnson who are all expected to miss.
