Rangers Football Club, or just simply Rangers, is a Scottish professional football club based in Glasgow. Nicknamed “The Gers” or “The Light Blues” by fans, it was founded in March 1872 and is the fourth oldest football club in Scotland. The team plays all its home games at the Ibrox Stadium, which currently seats about 50,817 people in its current format.
The team is one of the most successful in Scotland, and has won titles both in domestic and international competition, including the 1972 UEFA European Cup Winners’ Cup. Domestically, Rangers has won more league titles than any other side in Scotland. Two of the team’s biggest rivals include Celtic and Hibernian, with matches against Celtic, being one of the most eagerly anticipated derbies in world football.
