Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed the club's latest transfer business. What started as a mere rumor is now slowly becoming a reality - Morgan Schneiderlin is set to join Everton for £24million.
Speaking to SkySports, the Portuguese tactician confirmed the transfer that has been the subject of discussion on social media for the better part of this week. He said:
“Before the match (vs Hull City) I was informed by Mr [Ed] Woodward that the situation is close, so Morgan is more than probably going to Everton.
"It's almost there. I'm sad & happy. Sad because I like him and he could be option. Happy because it's what he wants."
The French international was signed by former Man Utd manager Louis Van Gaal in the summer of 2015 for £24 million but has since fallen out of favor in Mou's new-look squad. Schneiderlin, 27, has played a total of 32 league games for the Red Devils, and scored one goal since 2015.
The Daily Mail reports that the player has arrived at Everton for a medical ahead of the much-publicized move. The midfielder was also a transfer target for West Bromwich Albion, but the red devils had rejected the Baggies' bid of £13m for his signature.
