Moreover, coach Jorge Sampaoli's decision of keeping the player with the team raised a few eyebrows, but at least from within the team, that call was the right one to make.

Despite not being the most popular call, Alexis said the team had to be there for Vidal, as the midfielder has been around to back them when they needed him the most. Chile needs to win some points against Bolivia to finish first in Group A, having the advantage of already knowing Mexico's result against Ecuador. If El Tri wins, La Roja will need a victory to assure their top seed, otherwise, Miguel Herrera's team could claim the first place for themselves.
