Fans in South Africa can stream all 104 games from the 2026 FIFA World Cup on SportyTV after the broadcaster secured pay-TV rights to the 48-team tournament co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico. This means SportyTV viewers can watch some of the most important fixtures from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including the South African national team’s Group A matches against Mexico, Czechia, and South Korea.
StarTimes has acquired non-exclusive linear and digital LaLiga rights in multiple sub-Saharan African territories until 2029. The deal between the Chinese pay-TV provider and LaLiga covers the 2024-25, 2025-26, 2026-27, 2027-28, and 2028-29 seasons. Countries covered in this multi-year agreement include: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Italian Serie A matches are shown live on SportyTV in Ghana, Nigeria and English and Portuguese-speaking countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Serie A’s broadcast deal with SportyTV means that one match from each game week is shown live on free-to-air television in Ghana, Nigeria, Angola, Botswana, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, South Africa, St.
StarTimes has extended its non-exclusive English-language Bundesliga media rights in over 40 African territories from 2024 to 2027 following a three-year deal. The commercial broadcaster has held Bundesliga rights since 2015 and broadcasts matches in both English as well as select local languages for viewers in the following countries: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Free-to-air coverage of the Carabao Cup is available live via Sporty TV in Nigeria and Ghana with the technology company securing the rights in September 2024. Only select matches from each round of the competition are shown live on Sporty TV but both semi-finals and the Final from Wembley Stadium are available.

Select matches from the Belgian Pro League are shown live on SportyTV, providing fans in Ghana and Nigeria with free-to-air coverage of Belgium’s premier football division. Live coverage of the Belgian Pro League is split across the Sportytv linear TV channel and their free YouTube channel. The coverage of the league is quite sporadic, with the broadcaster frequently selecting matches from other leagues for live coverage instead.
StarTimes has secured linear and digital EFL rights in Nigeria and Ghana from 2024 to 2028. Select matches from the EFL Championship are available on StarTimes’s various linear channels in HD. The network’s coverage also includes the promotion-relegation play-offs and corresponding shoulder programming, such as replays, match analysis, and game highlights.
