Although the appointment of the current Netherlands coach seems just a formality, reports on the timing of the expected appointment remain mixed. While both the Times and the Telegraph's report that the nomination will have to wait, the Mirror's David McDonnell stated:

“Van Gaal, who is set to be confirmed as United boss on Thursday, is understood to have offered Giggs a key role alongside him as part of his coaching staff. It is understood Van Gaal has signed a two-year deal - with an option for a third - on a salary of £7million a season to succeed the sacked David Moyes.”

With no announcement as of yet, Red Devils fans will have to wait some more to discover who will lead Manchester United next season.
