The Bianconeri and the Giallorossi are set to lock horns in an intriguing clash on Saturday, August 27th.

Preview: Juventus vs Roma

Serie A fans will be in for a real treat early on as two of Italy's biggest sides, Juventus and Roma, will do battle in Turin on Saturday evening. It will be an interesting reunion for Paulo Dybala, who is Juve's all-time top goalscorer at this ground with 68 goals, and tenth overall in terms of most prolific marksmen for the Bianconeri. However, for the first time in many years, the Argentinian international will be featuring on the opposite side of the pitch from his former teammates, having left Juventus this summer and making a switch to Jose Mourinho's Roma.

The Bianconeri come into this tie following an insipid scoreless stalemate with Sampdoria which has Massimiliano Allegri under fire. It was a disappointing turn of events following their comfortable 3-0 win over Sassuolo on matchday one, and having missed out on the Scudetto during the past two seasons, merely securing a top four finish might not be enough to keep Allegri in his post.

That being said, Juventus have an excellent record against Roma, as they have won 12 of their last 13 home meetings with the Lupi across all comps. In addition, they have lost just nine times in Turin, and once since the new Allianz Stadium was created. However, Roma are one of several sides with a perfect record so far this season. While Roma's wins over minnows Salernitana and Cremonese have not been the most inspiring, Mourinho will be hoping his team will finally kick into the right gear as historically they have struggled at this ground and in order to be a serious contender for Champions League football, they will need to overcome their hoodoo against a very familiar foe.

Team news: Juventus vs Roma

Juventus: Both Leonardo Bonucci and Wojciech Szczesny are set to return to the squad on Saturday, although it remains to be seen whether they will be involved from the start. However, Angel Di Maria, Paul Pogba, and Federico Chiesa remain out.

Roma: New signing Georginio Wijnaldum is out for the long haul due to a broken leg, while Niccolo Zaniolo is once out again with another injury.
